Celebrating Female-Owned Businesses

Being a female-run company, LCC has been able to connect and work with many other women-owned businesses. With International Women’s Day fast approaching, we wanted to highlight some of the businesses we believe in and have had the opportunity to work with. All of them are female-led and are local small businesses in our community. Check out the list below:

1.    Salted

The Salted team is made up of 3 moms - Kerri, Jill, and Kristy who like to think of themselves as the queens of baking, spreadsheets, and creative thinking. They are the women behind those tasty caramels! If you haven’t had a chance to try them yet, we highly recommend you do! You can get them online through their website or in some boutiques around Alberta. We had the opportunity to work with them on creating their branding and website as well as their packaging.

Her soaps smell amazing and who doesn’t love good natural skincare? You can find her products online as well as in a few select boutiques throughout Alberta. Our studio designed the packaging for their 3-step skincare routine which includes a cleanser, toner, and face serum.

4.    The Makers Keep

Katrina is the woman behind The Makers Keep and Unite by TMK. Her main objective was to support local makers by giving them a place to display their products in a “market-like” environment. They work with over 200 makers from all over Alberta and Canada. Hopefully, you get a chance to stop by one of their 4 locations or check them out online. Our team worked on the branding for Unite and the Keepsakes Collection, as well as various apparel and accessories for the in-house Keepsakes Collection.

5.    The Branded Good

The Branded Good was started by our very own Creative Director, Lianne. She started this initiative as a way of using her design skills for good. It is a non-profit company creating and selling quality designed apparel, in order to raise money for charitable causes. 100% of the net profits for each collection is donated to a charitable cause. To date, The Branded Good has donated to local businesses, The Bissell Centre, The Canadian Women’s Foundation, and AdaptAbilities. You can purchase pieces from previous collections online through the website or you can find some pieces available in person at The Makers Keep.

Today, the chocolatier is run by both Rebecca and her right-hand woman Maryanne.
